The next leg on our honeymoon journey, after leaving lovely Montreal, was the major metropolitan of Toronto. I don’t think either of us realized just how big the city was until we got there. Actually it was one of those cities that was hard to grasp the size and scale of. And like any major metropolitan, the things to do and see were endless.

The Wedding Day

This is my last post about our wedding. I posted alot of tutorials and diy stuff, but I wanted to do a final post that was just about the day and all the fun we had. So here are a bunch of photos. Thanks for everyone who took photos throughout the day, and thanks for all the enumerable amount of help we had from our friends and family. It was a completely amazing day. Totally perfect.

the things that grow

I was sent this photo from a guest of our wedding. This is a flower that grew from the thank you gifts we gave at our wedding. I got cute little heart-shaped flower bombs from lovelybean. It made me smile that we help spread some beauty around. Makes me want to help make more beautiful things.

catering your wedding

I have been considering doing a post about self catering a wedding, but all I could think to write was, “Don’t do it!” But there are lots of reasons to want to do your own food for your wedding. For us cost and a non-traditional menu were the major reasons we catered our wedding. We decided early on that food was a high priority in our wedding wish list. Not just good food, but our favorite foods. I couldn’t imagine going to a caterer and asking for both my grandmother’s chicken and dumplings as well as Indian curry, and tom kah soup. Oh and some of those mini quiches. Plus we had guests with very different food preferences.  They varied from vegans, vegetarians, to meat and potato types who eat little else. I wanted to make sure everyone ate well and wasn’t an after thought. So since there are some very good reasons to cater your own wedding, I thought I could share some things I learned about catering a wedding.
